Morgan Ryan of the St. Olaf College volleyball team were all honored on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region 9 Team, as announced on Wednesday.
Miller and Ryan were among 14 First Team All-Region 9 honorees, while Kreft was one of six honorable-mention honorees in the regional awards. Kreft and Miller earned the first regional accolades of their careers, while Ryan was a first-team choice for the second season in a row.
Ryan repeated as a first-team all-region honoree during a record-setting senior season that has seen the senior rack up 758 digs (5.97 per set), 37 aces (0.29 per set), and 147 assists (1.16 per set). Ryan leads all three levels of NCAA volleyball in digs and ranks seventh in NCAA Division III – and first in the region – in digs per set. Ryan's 758 digs so far this season are a new single-season program record.
In her junior season, Miller has hit a region-best .376 while totaling 232 kills (2.09 per set) and 93 total blocks (0.84 per set). The junior ranks 15th nationally in hitting percentage, while sitting in a tie for seventh in the region in blocks and 12th in blocks per set.
Kreft has enjoyed a breakout junior season that has seen her record 320 kills (2.83 per set) and 44 blocks (0.39 per set) while hitting .236 on the outside. The junior, who has had 10+ kills in 18 matches this season, ranks 13th in the region in kills and 18th in points (346.5) heading into the NCAA Tournament.
After earning an at-large bid into the field, St. Olaf will face the University of Northwestern in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20 in Bloomington, Ill.
