BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – First-year goaltender 
Ryan Nolan of the St. Olaf College men's hockey team was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, as announced on Monday afternoon.
Nolan helped St. Olaf to a season-opening split with perennial powerhouse and fifth-ranked St. Norbert College by making 49 saves over the weekend in De Pere, Wis. The first year stopped 27-of-29 shots during Friday night's 3-0 loss before tallying 22 in a 5-4 overtime victory on Saturday in the Oles' first win over the Green Knights since 1992.
This weekend, Nolan and the Oles will host UW-Eau Claire on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. and UW-Superior on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.
