MORA, Minn. – Fourteen members of the St. Olaf College men's and women's Nordic skiing teams raced in the 36K Dala at the 2025 Vasaloppet USA on Saturday at Vasaloppet Nordic Center.
Seven members of each of St. Olaf's teams raced in the event, combining for seven age group podiums, including sophomore
Amae Kam-Magruder, senior
Lily Hubanks, and sophomore
Lily Ward finishing as the top-three female finishers over the 36-kilometer race.
First year
Paavo Rova finished third overall (1:45:45.7) for St. Olaf and was just over 30 seconds off the winner's pace, while junior
Tait Myers (1:48:49.0) and first year
Daniel Gladkov (1:48:49.6) were also in the top 10 in sixth and seventh, respectively. First year
Lance Hastings was a fourth Ole in the top 15 in 15th (1:58:53.6).
Amae Kam-Magruder was the top female finisher and took 18th overall (1:55.06), fractions of a second ahead of Hubanks in 19th (1:55:06.2). Ward was 24th overall and third among females (1:58:45.7), while junior
Haakon Erdahl was also in the top 30 overall in 29th (2:01:56.0).
St. Olaf's teams will travel to Rhinelander, Wis. for the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Regional Championships on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 15-16.
