GREENWOOD, Ind. – Sophomore Jachin Mertes of the St. Olaf College men's basketball team was named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District ® Men's Basketball Teams, as announced on Tuesday.

Mertes represented St. Olaf on the CSC Academic All-District ® list, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. In order to be recognized, nominees must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average, and must compete in 90 percent or start in 66 percent of their institution's games during the season.

In his sophomore season, Mertes started all 25 games for St. Olaf while averaging 6.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. He is majoring in quantitative economics and has been named to the St. Olaf Dean's List in all three of his completed semesters.
