NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Senior
Connor Kalthoff of the St. Olaf College men's hockey team received two more postseason accolades by being named a Second Team All-USCHO selection and DIIIHockeyNews.com First Team All-West honoree, as announced recently.
Kalthoff repeated as an All-USCHO honoree after also being a second-team selection a year ago and was one of nine blue-liners on the three teams. This year marked the first edition of the DIIIHockeyNews.com annual awards, as Kalthoff was one of two blue-liners on the West Region First Team.
The Sartell native was previously named a CCM/American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) First Team West All-American for the second season in a row and was one of 13 finalists for the Sid Watson Award, which honors the top NCAA Division II-III men's hockey player in the country. Kalthoff was also chosen as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Defensive Player of the Year and earned his third consecutive All-MIAC accolade.
As a senior, Kalthoff tallied 20 points on five goals and 15 assists in 27 games, leading the team in assists while ranking second in points. He also tied for the team lead in blocked shots (21). Kalthoff wrapped up his career as an Ole with 18 goals and 48 assists for 66 points, which is the fifth-highest total by a defenseman in recorded program history, in a program-record 112 games.
