LEXINGTON, Ky. – The St. Olaf College volleyball team received votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/Taraflex Division III Women's Volleyball Poll for the first time this season in the poll released on Tuesday.

Coming off a 3-0 weekend that included a sweep of then No. 1-ranked UW-Whitewater, St. Olaf (8-6) received 13 votes in this week's national balloting. The Oles' 3-0 showing at the Carleton/St. Olaf Invitational also included a five-set victory over the University of Chicago, which received votes in the national poll last week.

Five of St. Olaf's six losses this season have come against teams that were either ranked in the top 25 or received votes this week: No. 1 University of La Verne, No. 17 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, No. 24 University of Dubuque (twice), and the University of Northwestern (RV).

The Oles will host Carleton College in the Battle for the Bell on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.
