INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Three individuals and one relay from the St. Olaf College men's and women's track and field teams qualified for next week's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in La Crosse, Wis., as the official qualifying lists were announced on Friday evening.
Senior
Kevin Turlington qualified in both the 5,000-meter run and 10,000-meter run, while junior
Max Albertson did so in the long jump for the men's team. First year
Claire Stein earned a spot in the 400-meter hurdles and was part of St. Olaf's qualifying 4x400-meter relay along with sophomore

Turlington was one of 10 individuals to qualify in both the men's 5,000-meter run and 10,000-meter run, landing the No. 4 seed in the 10K (29:17.58) and the No. 7 seed in the 5K (14:01.93). The senior was previously a national qualifier in the outdoor 5K last year and placed 11th. He also ran in the 5K at the indoor national meet in each of the last two seasons. The men's 10K will be at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday with the 5K at 4:25 p.m. on Saturday.
Albertson is one of four athletes tied for the No. 18 seed in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.29 meters. A first-time outdoor national qualifier, the junior finished 10th nationally in the event indoors in 2025. The men's long jump is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Stein became St. Olaf's first qualifier in the women's 400-meter hurdles since 2013 (Dani Larson '15) and claimed the No. 17 seed with her school-record time of 1:01.45. Stein will run in the prelims at 5:10 p.m. on Thursday, hoping to secure a spot in the finals at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.
Fresh off setting the school and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) record in the event on Thursday evening, Jaeckle, Stein, Semple, and DenHartog will be the No. 5 seed in the 4x400-meter relay (3:44.74). The quartet became the first St. Olaf 4x400-meter relay to qualify for the national meet since 2010. The prelims will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, with the finals at 4:50 p.m. on Saturday.
