Jore collects second MIAC Elite 22 Award of the year

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Senior Ashlyn Jore of the St. Olaf College women's track and field team earned the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Elite 22 Award for women's outdoor track and field, as announced on Tuesday morning.

After receiving the accolade during the indoor season, Jore also picked up the outdoor accolade to become the third Ole to land multiple MIAC Elite 22 Awards during their careers. Tuesday's announcement made Jore St. Olaf's 17th MIAC Elite 22 Award recipient since the award began in 2013-14.

Modeled after the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete Award (formerly the Elite 90 Award), the MIAC Elite 22 Award is presented annually to the student-athlete with the highest grade-point average (GPA) in each sport who meet similarly high, sport-specific athletic requirements. In outdoor track and field, the winner is the individual with the highest GPA who was named All-Conference in at least one event. The winner must be a junior or senior in at least their second full academic year at their institution. Ties are broken by the number of credits earned at their current school.

Jore, a biology and kinesiology double-major with a 4.0 cumulative grade-point average, was the conference runner-up in the long jump (5.60m) at the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships this spring for third All-MIAC accolade in the event across the indoor and outdoor seasons.
