ResultsLA CROSSE, Wis. - The St. Olaf women's track and field team opened its season at the Ashton May Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Abby Stets opened the outdoor season with a 58.87 in the 400 to place sixth. Â
Abbey Schnaith scored six points for the Oles in the 800 meter dash with a third place finish in 2:24.90. Â Also competing in the 800 were
Anna Holten (24th - 2:33.33),
Choyang Yangkyi (41st - 2:43.27) and
Jerlie Jensen (42nd - 2:48.11).
The Oles had a pair of runner-up finishes with
Madison Van Wylen in the 400 meter hurdles (1:04.84) and
Morghen Philippi in a close 5000 meter race (17:59.89).
Kelsey Weed threw the javelin for St. Olaf, tossing 31.17 meters to finish sixth overall. Â
Jane Vezina threw a distance of 17.36 meters to place 36th.
The Oles finished ninth with 37 team points. Â The winners of the meet came from UW-La Crosse and notched 198.5 points.
St. Olaf competes next at the Concordia Holst Invite on Saturday at Concordia-St. Paul.
