St. Olaf competes at Tommie Opener

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's track and field team competed at the Tommie Opener on Friday evening at the Anderson Fieldhouse at the University of St. Thomas.

In the 400 meter dash, Joe Pugh won the event in 51.65, Justin Elstad was sixth in 53.70.  Adam Kaiser qualified for the finals of the 60 meter dash where he finished eighth in 7.48.  Eli Knutson and Chris Frick were 7.70 and 7.72 in the preliminaries.  

Keith Ketola won the mile in 4:25.38, leading the race from start to finish.  Behind him were Jackson Simon (4th - 4:31.02) and Elliot Kadrofske (5th - 4:31.74).

The 4x400 meter relay team recorded the fastest time on the day with a 3:35.62.  The relay team consisted of Elstad, Ben Scott, Matthew Paal, and Pugh as the anchor.

In the field events, Jacob Gursky cleared 15' 5" in the pole vault to finish third.

The Oles host a triangular meet next Friday in Tostrud Center.
