NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's track and field team placed sixth at the MIACÂ Outdoor Championships over the weekend at Carleton College.
Friday, Day 1
The Oles had two third place finishes in field events finals.
Jacob Gursky placed third in the Pole Vault at 4.70 meters, and
Nathan Kurtz-Enko placed third in the Shot Put at 15.92 meters.
In track finals,Â
Thomas Lerdall finished fourth in the 10,000 Meter Run with a time of 32:40.76.
In the 1,500 Meter Run preliminaries, the Oles had three athletes advance.
Sean Lonergan (4:08.76),
Keith Ketola (4:09.06), and
William Anderson (4:09.61) all advanced to the finals.
Joe Pugh advanced to the finals of the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 49.77 in the preliminary run.
Benjamin Scott advanced to the finals in the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 56.71.
Saturday, Day 2
On the second and final day of competition, the Oles had top three finishes in two events. Lonergan placed third in the 1,500 Meter Run (3:55.39), while the Ole relay team took third in the 4x400 Meter Relay (3:19.75).
Ketola took fourth place in the 5,000 Meter Run (15:13.85), and the Ole relay team of Lonergan,
Zach Herman,
Sam Primozich, and
Liam Getzloff finished fourth in the 4x800 Meter Relay at 7:53.08.
Scott placed fifth in the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 56.05.
Eric Bakken took sixth with a time of 9:42.98 in the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase.
Pugh ran a 49.64 in the 400 Meter Dash to finish seventh.
Next up for the Oles is the Last Chance Meet on Thursday in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
