Bash, Anderson, Davis honored in MIAC Women's Soccer Awards

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – First year Tessa Anderson and senior Claire Bash of the St. Olaf College women's soccer team earned all-conference honors, while junior Brynne Davis was named an honorable mention all-conference selection, as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its 2019 Women's Soccer Awards on Wednesday afternoon.

Bash's All-MIAC honor was her third in a row to close out her career, while Anderson was recognized following a standout debut season at St. Olaf. Davis was recognized by the conference for the first time, while sophomore Grace Maxwell represented the Oles on the MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

In her senior season, Bash collected three goals and one assist in 15 games for St. Olaf from her defensive midfielder spot. The Long Lake, Minn. native recorded her second-career two-goal game, including the game-winner late in double overtime, in a 4-3 win over Saint Mary's on Oct. 2. She is the fourth three-time All-MIAC selection in program history.

Anderson led St. Olaf in goals (8), points (18), shots (65) and shots on goal (38) in her first season on the Hill on her way to All-MIAC honors. She ranked tied for 10th in the MIAC in goals and tied for 11th in points for the season. Her eight goals were tied for the most by a rookie in the conference and seven of her eight goals came in MIAC play, the joint third-highest total in the conference.

Davis started 16 of St. Olaf's 18 games in goal, recording a 7-7-2 record in nearly 1,500 minutes of action. The junior registered a career-high 89 saves, a figure that ranked third in the MIAC, and had a pair of double-digit save performances, including a career-high 14 in a 1-1 tie against Augsburg on Oct. 12.

Maxwell started 11 times for the Oles in the midfield this fall and scored three goals, with all three coming in MIAC play. Her 29 shots were tied with Bash for fourth-most on the team.

St. Olaf finished the season 8-8-2 overall and 5-5-1 in the MIAC, marking the program's fourth-straight season with at least eight victories.
