BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Senior
Katie Beaudry was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year, as five members of the St. Olaf College women's soccer team were honored in the 2025 MIAC Women's Soccer Awards, as released on Tuesday afternoon.
Beaudry became the first Ole in the history of the award (since 2015) to be voted the Defensive Player of the Year by the conference's head coaches. The senior was also one of a conference-high-tying five All-MIAC selections and one of two MIAC All-Playoff Team honorees for St. Olaf.
Beaudry earned her second consecutive All-MIAC accolade – and her third postseason honor from the conference – after helping St. Olaf limit its opponents to four goals in 11 MIAC games for a 0.36 goals-against average this fall. The Oles' 11 MIAC opponents combined for just 15 shots on goal. Beaudry, who was also named to the MIAC All-Playoff Team for the second season in a row, recorded two assists while playing a team-high 941 minutes in the back line against MIAC opposition.
Senior
Cat Duffy-Shaw became the third Ole to be a four-time All-MIAC selection – and one of 22 in recorded conference history – after recording eight points on two goals and four assists in 11 conference games. Duffy-Shaw joined Kerry Goldman (1999-02) and Kelsey Watt (2003-06) as four-time all-conference selections for St. Olaf in women's soccer.
Junior
Emily Johnson landed her third consecutive All-MIAC accolade after racking up 18 points on eight goals and two assists in conference play. Johnson led the conference in shots (71) and shots on goal (36) in MIAC play, while ranking second with eight goals and tied for sixth with two game-winning goals.
Senior
Marit Klagge was a first-time all-conference selection after compiling nine points on four goals and one assist in 11 games. Three of Klagge's four goals in conference play were game-winners, which ranked tied for third in the MIAC.
Junior
Wren VanDeWalker picked up All-MIAC and All-Playoff Team honors for the first time in her career following a season where she had one goal and a team-high five assists against conference foes. VanDeWalker's five assists in MIAC play were tied for the most in the conference. The junior also scored the lone goal of the game in St. Olaf's 1-0 quarterfinal win over Saint Mary's University.
