BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Sophomore
Stephen Peper of the St. Olaf College men's track & field team was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Peper tied a personal record and matched the top mark in the MIAC this season in the high jump at Friday's dual against Carleton by clearing 1.95 meters to win the event. The sophomore's mark is currently tied for 34th-best in the country this season.
The MIAC Athlete of the Week honor was the first of Peper's career and the second in as many weeks for the St. Olaf men's track & field team, as senior
Sean Lonergan earned the track award last Tuesday.
Peper and the Oles host Bethel, Gustavus and St. Thomas in a coed quadrangular on Friday, Jan. 24 at Tostrud Center. Track and field events both begin at 4 p.m.
