BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Senior Stephen Peper of the St. Olaf College men's track and field team and sophomore Izzy Treanor of women's swimming and diving were recognized as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Athlete of the Week in their respective sports on Tuesday afternoon.

Peper was named the MIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the third time in four weeks this season and the fifth time in his career, while Treanor was tabbed the MIAC Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career. Treanor is the first Ole honored with the weekly award in women's swimming and diving since Maria Newton on Jan. 14, 2020.

Peper broke St. Olaf's school record in the heptathlon by over 200 points with a score of 4,864 points at this weekend's St. Olaf Quad & Multi. In addition to breaking the previous record of 4,662 points set by Evan Sundquist '05 in 2005, the senior's score ranks first in the MIAC and seventh in NCAA Division III this season. Peper set personal bests in five of the seven events and was less than two inches shy of his best performances in the long jump and high jump.

Treanor met the six-dive and 11-dive qualifying standards for NCAA Zones in the one-meter dive in Saturday's dual win over Carleton, scoring 266.50 on six dives and 439.05 on 11 dives. She also posted the MIAC's highest five-dive score of the season (172.55) – a score that ranks 25th nationally – while winning both sessions of the event at the meet.

Men's track and field is next in action at the Gopher Classic on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. in Minneapolis, while women's swimming and diving also visits Minneapolis for the Minnesota Challenge on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 4-5.
