MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Sophomore
Ian Curtis ran the second-fastest mile in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) this season as the St. Olaf College men's track and field team competed at the Gopher Classic on Saturday.
Curtis finished fourth – second among NCAA Division III runners – in the mile with a time of 4:16.12, which ranks in the top 30 nationally in addition to being the second-fastest time in the conference this season. Senior
Eliott Cassidy posted the fifth-fastest time in the event in the MIAC by finishing seventh in 4:18.54.
Senior
Luke Malek was the runner-up in the 600-meter run, finishing just eight-hundredths of a second behind John Morrison of St. Thomas in 1:24.38. That time ranks third in the conference this season.
Sophomore
Demetri Lord bettered his third-fastest time in program history in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.51 seconds in the prelims before finishing fourth in the finals in 8.62 seconds. The prelims time ranks fifth in the conference.
Junior
Lucas Kramarczuk logged a pair of top-three finishes, finishing as the runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles (8.54) and placing third in the triple jump (13.47m, 44' 2 ½"), with the latter mark sitting third in the MIAC.
Senior
Aengus White broke onto St. Olaf's all-time top-10 list in the shot put with a throw of 14.43 meters (47' 4 ¼"), which ranks third in the MIAC and eighth in program history.
First year
Jackson Marsh was the runner-up in the 800-meter run (2:00.67), while sophomore
Will Kelly led a 2-3-4-5-6 finish in the 3,000-meter run for the Oles in 8:42.35.
St. Olaf visits Menomonie, Wis. for the UW-Stout Quad on Friday, Feb. 11 at 4 p.m.
