LA CROSSE, Wis./AZUSA, Calif. – The St. Olaf College men's track and field team sent small groups of runners to the Phil Esten Challenge and Bryan Clay Invitational on Thursday and Friday.
On Thursday evening, sophomore
Cooper Gundersen, junior
Quinn McCabe, and first year
Owen Marsh traveled to La Crosse to run in the 10,000-meter run. Gundersen paced the three Oles with a 35th-place finish (32:33.24), while McCabe and Marsh were 40th (33:09.64) and 47th (33:51.85), respectively, in their first collegiate 10-kilometer races.

Lance Nemecek, junior
Christian Fells, first year
Paxon Myers, and sophomore
Austin McInturff competed in the 800-meter run in California in fields with runners from all three NCAA Divisions. Moore was 54th in the Open A category with a personal-best time of 1:51.66, which moved him up to sixth on the Oles' all-time performers' list. Nemecek was 68th (1:52.36) in the same category.
Junior
Christian Fells became the No. 9 all-time performer in program history by clocking in at 1:52.39 to finish 21st in the Open B category. Myers added a personal-best time of 1:52.98 to take 35th, while McInturff was 82nd (1:54.87) in the Open B races.
Next up for St. Olaf is the Carleton Relays on Sunday, April 19 starting at 11:30 a.m. at Laird Stadium.
