LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – The St. Olaf College women's alpine skiing team recorded its second-straight 12th-place team finish at the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championships, as the slalom was contested on Thursday at Whiteface Mountain.
After finishing 12th as a team in the giant slalom on Tuesday, St. Olaf repeated the finish in the 26-team field in the slalom with a time of 5:39.03 from its top-three finishers. First year
Kate Young was the Oles' top finisher, improving by 18 spots from her giant slalom finish by placing 37th (1:50.42).
Junior
Rachel Tanner also made a big move up the leaderboard from the giant slalom with a 46th-place finish (1:53.24), which marked a 29-spot improvement from Tuesday. First year
Lexi Jorgensen rounded out St. Olaf's three counting times in 53rd place (1:55.55), while senior
Sheridan Westphal checked in in 73rd (2:06.57).
The Ole women are back in action with the dual slalom to close out the USCSA National Championships on Saturday, March 12.
