LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – The St. Olaf College women's alpine skiing team recorded its second consecutive sixth-place finish at the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championships as the slalom was contested on Thursday at Whiteface Mountain.
After taking sixth in the 26-team field in the giant slalom on Tuesday, St. Olaf repeated the finish in the slalom with a time of 5:22.16 from its top-three performers. Senior
Jessica Stanton again led the way with her second Second Team All-America performance in a row.
Stanton was 16th in the giant slalom and was 16th again in the slalom with a time of 1:44.58 over her two runs, highlighted by the 14th-fastest opening run (50.52). First year
Eloise Backer added a top-25 finish in 23rd (1:47.16), while senior
Winter Johnson placed 34th (1:50.42).
The Oles will wrap up the USCSA National Championships with the dual slalom on Saturday, March 14.
