DES MOINES, Iowa – First years
Alison Bode and
Sofia Carlson of the St. Olaf College women's track and field team both posted top-10 times in program history in the event while competing at the 112th Drake Relays on Thursday night at Drake Stadium.
Competing in a field with runners from all three NCAA Divisions and the NAIA, Carlson placed 15th (37:09.32) and Bode finished 23rd (37:46.06), as both earned spots on the program's all-time top-10 list in the event. Carlson's time ranks fourth in program history and Bode's is 10th.
The duo's times also rank third and fourth in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) this season. Carlson was second among NCAA Division III finishers and finished ahead of eight NCAA Division I runners, while Bode was fourth among NCAA Division III competitors.
St. Olaf is in action as a team at the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational at Macalester on Saturday, April 30. The meet gets going with field events at 9 a.m. and track events begin at 11 a.m.
