NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The second-seeded St. Olaf College men's soccer team will host third-seeded Augsburg University in the semifinals of the 2024 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Soccer Playoffs on Thursday afternoon.
St. Olaf (12-4-3), which earned a share of the MIAC regular-season title with an 8-0-2 mark in conference play, will begin its showing in the tournament against Augsburg (12-3-5, 5-1-4 MIAC) after the Auggies edged sixth-seeded Macalester College 1-0 in double overtime on Monday. Kickoff in Thursday's semifinal is set for 2 p.m. at Rolf Mellby Field.

HomeTown Ticketing. There will not be cash sales at any venue; however, spectators can purchase tickets using a mobile device, including while at the venue. Tickets are available for purchase immediately. General admission adult tickets are $12 (plus HTT service charge). Student (with ID) tickets are $3 (plus HTT service charge), and children ages five and under are admitted free.

Top-seeded Gustavus Adolphus College will host fifth-seeded Carleton College in Thursday's other semifinal after the Knights ousted fourth-seeded Bethel University by a 5-2 score on Monday in Arden Hills. The semifinal victors will go head-to-head for the MIAC Playoff title and the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. at the site of the highest remaining seed.
St. Olaf is making its 12th appearance in the MIAC Playoffs (2004, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024) and is in the field for the fifth season in a row (no tournament in 2020 due to COVID-19). The Oles are 11-7 all-time in the tournament and are the two-time defending championships, having won titles in 2011, 2015, 2022, and 2023. St. Olaf is 6-4 all-time in MIAC Playoff semifinals and has appeared in the championship game in each of the last three seasons.
Augsburg booked its spot in the semifinals by getting a goal from Mizael Harris with 4:19 remaining in the second overtime to eliminate Macalester on Monday in Minneapolis. The victory leveled the Auggies' record at 7-7 in the MIAC Playoffs in the program's ninth appearance in the field. Augsburg, which won the MIAC Playoffs in 2010, is in the semifinals for the seventh time and is 3-3 in its previous six semifinals.
Thursday's meeting will be the second between St. Olaf and Augsburg in the MIAC Playoffs. The lone prior meeting was a 2-1 semifinal victory for the top-seeded Oles over the fourth-seeded Auggies in 2011 when only the top-four teams made the tournament.
