TAYLORS FALLS, Minn. – Senior
Graham Barwick recorded two of the St. Olaf College men's alpine skiing team's three podium finishes in a pair of U.S Ski & Snowboard slalom races at Wild Mountain on Saturday.
Barwick landed on the podium in both races in second and third, respectively, and junior
Wyatt Shultz joined him on the podium in the second race in third as part of a pair of top-eight performances from Shultz.
In the first race of the day, Barwick grabbed the final podium spot with a time of 1:03.74 over his two runs, including posting the fastest second run of the day (33.46). Mjanger was a little over a second behind Barwick in fifth (1:04.84), while Shultz made it three Oles in the top seven in seventh (1:06.23).
Later, Barwick logged the fastest first run in the second race (33.76) and eventually was the runner-up in 1:09.87, while Shultz nabbed the third spot in 1:1.29. Senior
Alexander James posted St. Olaf's third-highest finish in race two in 26th (1:19.61).
St. Olaf will be back in action at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Mid-Am competition at Searchmont Resort in Ontario held Friday through Sunday, Dec. 20-22.
