GAYLORD, Mich. – The St. Olaf College men's and women's alpine skiing teams accounted for 10 individual podium finishes while winning both the giant slalom and slalom races in U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) competition at Otsego Club on Saturday and Sunday.
St. Olaf finished atop the team standings in all four team events, highlighted by podium sweeps in the men's slalom and women's slalom races. First years
Jackson Reents and
Tate Wilker were in the top three in both events for the men, while sophomore
Maia Andrews was for the women.
In the men's giant slalom, Reents led four Oles in the top 10 by logging the fastest runs in both runs to finish first (41.05). Wilker recorded the second-fastest second run to move up from sixth to third (42.12), while senior
Wyatt Shultz (6th, 42.81) and first year William Sullivan (8th, 43.14) were also in the top 10.

Ellie Mathe in the women's giant slalom paced five Oles who placed in the top 10. Andrews took first (43.05), followed by Mathe in second (43.47), with senior
Jessica Stanton also in the top five in fourth (44.77). Senior
Winter Johnson (6th, 45.26) and first year
Eloise Backer (10th, 46.45) also posted top-10 finishes.
Reents (51.39), Wilker (51.77), and Shultz (52.49) swept the podium places in the men's slalom, with Reents registering top-two times in both runs in the process. Sullivan added another top-10 result in seventh (55.29).
Andrews (54.53), junior
Elanore Robb (56.40), and Stanton (57.98) made it another podium sweep in the women's slalom, with all three posting top-three times in both runs. Backer (4th, 58.72), Johnson (6th, 59.78), and Mathe (10th, 1:03.35) made it six Oles in the top 10.
St. Olaf will be back in USCSA action at Wild Mountain in Taylors Falls on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 17-18.
