MARQUETTE, Mich. – The St. Olaf College men's and women's alpine skiing teams both qualified for the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championships with second-place finishes at the MCSA Regional Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Marquette Mountain.
Both St. Olaf teams punched their tickets to Lake Placid, N.Y. next month with their runner-up finishes at regionals. The Ole men finished second in both the slalom and giant slalom competitions, while the women were second in the slalom and third in the giant slalom.

Jackson Reents, sophomore
Austin Mjanger, and first year
Tate Wilker were all in the top 10 in the men's slalom on Saturday. Reents was the top Ole finisher in sixth (1:10.23), followed by Mjanger in eighth (1:10.52) and Wilker in a tie for ninth (1:11.10).

Jessica Stanton's podium finish highlighted the women's slalom as Stanton took third overall (1:23.67). First year

Winter Johnson joined Stanton in the top 10 in eighth (1:26.58) and 10th (1:28.31), respectively.
Reents again led the way for St. Olaf in the men's giant slalom on Saturday with a third-place performance (56.15). Senior
Kerem Haymana took sixth (56.91), while Wilker was 12th (57.82) to round out the Oles' three times that factored into their team score.
Johnson was St. Olaf's top performer in the women's giant slalom, finishing ninth (57.73), just ahead of Stanton in 10th (57.96). Backer was again in the top 20 in 18th (58.83).
Before the USCSA National Championships, the Oles will race in FIS competition at Snowriver Mountain Resort in Wakfield, Mich. from Friday, Feb. 27 through Sunday, March 1.
