DULUTH/LUTSEN, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's and women's alpine skiing teams accounted for six individual top-10 finishes while competing in three FIS slalom races and two FIS giant slalom races Friday through Monday at Spirit Mountain and Lutsen Mountains.
To start the busy stretch of racing, St. Olaf competed in three days of slalom competition at Spirit Mountain Friday through Sunday. First year
Jackson Reents led the way for the Oles with three consecutive top-five finishes, highlighted by winning the slalom on Sunday (1:33.55) and taking second on Friday (1:34.54).
On Monday, the Oles ventured to Lutsen Mountains for back-to-back giant slalom races, with first year
Tate Wilker placing in the top 10 in both races. Wilker was fifth in the first race (2:03.31) and ninth in the second (2:07.60), while Reents was sixth in the second (2:07.60).
Senior
Winter Johnson recorded top-15 results in both giant slalom races for the women, placing 13th (2:15.84) and 14th (2:19.74), respectively.
St. Olaf will be back in U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) competition on Saturday and Sunday at Spirit Mountain in Duluth.
