Wilker and Shultz guide men's alpine to 19th in slalom at USCSA National Championships

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – The St. Olaf College men's alpine skiing team finished 19th in the slalom at the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championships on Friday at Whiteface Mountain.

After finishing 22nd in the giant slalom on Wednesday, St. Olaf improved three spots in the slalom thanks to top-25 individual performances from first year Tate Wilker and senior Wyatt Shultz. Wilker and Shultz were the only two Oles to finish both of their runs on the day.

Wilker finished the day in 22nd (1:35.88) after using the 18th-fastest second run (46.69) to move up from 25th place. Shultz was two spots behind Wilker in 24th (1:36.66).

St. Olaf will close out the USCSA National Championships with the dual slalom on Saturday, March 14.
