BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Six members of the St. Olaf College men's and women's alpine skiing teams were in action at the Chuck Stone Memorial race at Buck Hill on Monday.
First year
Austin Mjanger, senior
Alexander James, and sophomore
Charleston Harvath competed for the men's team, while senior
Kate Young, first year Kaia Grussing-Neitzel, and junior
Emma Gannon raced for the women's team.
Mjanger logged the lone top-10 performance of the day for St. Olaf by placing fourth (59.34) in the men's race, while James took 44th (1:06.45) and Harvath was 61st (1:12.31). Young was the top finisher for the Oles on the women's side in 17th (1:06.92), followed by Grussing-Neitzel in 60th (1:14.70). Gannon did not compete the opening run.
St. Olaf will be back in action in U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) competition at Wild Mountain in Taylors Falls on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 4-5.
