Ella Wright posted the lowest rounds of their careers for the St. Olaf College women's golf team in the Oles' eighth-place finish at the Gustie D3 Classic on Saturday and Sunday at Emerald Greens Golf Course.
Wright and Young both logged rounds of 79 (+7) and put together the top scores of the weekend with totals of 163 (+19) for St. Olaf, which was eighth of 12 teams with a 36-hole team score of 659 (+83). The Oles shot a 331 (+43) as a team on Saturday before improving by three strokes to a 328 (+40) in cooler temperatures on Sunday.
Young opened the tournament with a career-low 79 for St. Olaf's lowest round of the opening day before Wright matched the score on Sunday. The Ole duo finished as part of a seven-way tie for 29th in the field of 75.

Kadyn Triebenbach were both one shot off the pace of Wright and Young over the two-day event with scores of 164 (+20), with both Oles carding scores of 81 (+9) and 83 (+11).
The tournament was the final event for St. Olaf before the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships, which will be held Saturday through Monday, Sept. 28-30 at St. Cloud Country Club.
