WOODBURY/EDINA, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's golf team placed seven of 12 teams at the St. Kate's Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Eagle Valley Golf Course and Braemar Golf Course.
Junior
Marit Lyle was St. Olaf's top finisher by tying for 25th with a 36-hole total of 158 (+14). As a team, the Oles shot a 312 (+24) on Saturday and a 331 (+43) on Sunday to edge Bethel University by three strokes for seventh with a 36-hole score of 643 (+67).
Lyle opened the tournament with a season-best 77 (+5) on Saturday that included a pair of birdies before shooting 81 (+9) on Sunday. The junior was one shot ahead of sophomore
Anneliese Carlson, who tied for 27th with a score of 159 (+15) after rounds of 80 (+8) and 79 (+7).
Junior
Ella Wright shot a career-low 78 (+6) on Saturday on her way to tying for 35th at 153 (+19), while first year
Annika Searles put together a career-low 77 (+5) in the opening round before tying for 43rd (166, +22).
St. Olaf will be off until heading to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships, which will be held Saturday through Monday, Oct. 4-6 back at Braemar Golf Course.
