WHITE BEAR TOWNSHIP/FARIBAULT, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's golf team placed fourth at the September Showdown in its final tournament before the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Oneka Ridge Golf Course and Faribault Country Club.
St. Olaf was fourth in the seven-team field that represented six MIAC programs with a 36-hole total of 633 (+57) after putting together rounds of 311 (+23) and 322 (+34). The Oles were seven shots ahead of the College of Saint Benedict and 10 ahead of Carleton College, with four first years in the top 20 individually.
Competing as an individual, meaning her score did not count towards St. Olaf's team tally, first year
Amita Crowley compiled scores of 76 (+4) and 75 (+3) to finish in a tie for eighth (151, +7). Crowley only had one score worse than a bogey in the 36-hole event while finishing tied for fourth in par-four scoring (+3) and tied for fifth in birdies (5). Her 75 on Sunday matched her season-low round.
First year
Aliyah Kleven made it four consecutive top-20 finishes to start her collegiate career by placing 15th (155, +11) with rounds of 77 (+5) and 78 (+6). Kleven led the entire field in par-five scoring (-4) and had the joint-fewest bogeys (4) among the 45 competitors.

Sarah Dove tied for the tournament lead with seven birdies and placed 16th (156, +12), while classmate
Lexi Fertig tied for 19th (160, +16).
St. Olaf will travel to Braemar Golf Course in Edina for the three-day MIAC Championships held Friday through Sunday, Oct. 2-4.
