BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Senior
Sadie Klassen of the St. Olaf College women's soccer team was recognized as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
The senior earned the third MIAC Athlete of the Week accolade of her career after scoring a hat trick in St. Olaf's 7-0 victory at Bethel University on Wednesday afternoon. On Wednesday, Klassen scored twice in the span of 1:39 in the opening 10 minutes before finishing off the second hat trick of her career with a penalty kick early in the second half. The three-goal performance extended her goal-scoring streak to four matches at the time and brought her season total to six goals in six games.
St. Olaf will look to bounce back from its first loss of the season with a trip to the College of St. Scholastica for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 28.
