NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's golf team will compete at the 2024 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Golf Championships held Saturday through Monday at St. Cloud Country Club.
The first MIAC Championship event of the year will begin at 10 a.m. on each of the three days, with the winning team receiving the conference's automatic berth into the 2025 NCAA Division III Golf Championships. Pairings for Friday's opening round are
available here and subsequent rounds will depend on the previous day's scores.
Live scoring will be
available here throughout the three-day tournament. Following the conclusion of the tournament, the top-10 individual scorers (including ties) will be named to the MIAC All-Championship Team and will automatically earn All-Conference honors when the end-of-season awards are announced in the spring.
In its first season under head coach
Brian Stevens, a young St. Olaf team will look to improve on last season's seventh-place finish at the MIAC Championships. The Oles' five-player lineup will include sophomore
Solveig Senf, senior
Kadyn Triebenbach, sophomore
Ella Wright, first year
Anneliese Carlson, and sophomore
Marit Lyle.
Three of St. Olaf's five golfers will be competing in their first MIAC Championships, as Triebenbach and Lyle are the only two Oles with prior experience at the conference meet. Triebenbach has placed t-31st, t-42nd, and t-50th in her three appearances, while Lyle was 33rd a year ago as a first year.
Carlson and Lyle hold St. Olaf's joint-lowest scoring average entering the MIAC Championships with averages of 82.9 strokes per round through eight rounds. Triebenbach and Wright are not far behind with averages of 84.4 and 84.8, respectively, while Senf is averaging 87.3 strokes per round. All five Oles have low rounds in the 70s this, led by Triebenbach's 73 in the first round of the D3 Central Region Preview on Sept. 7.
