NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Junior
Isabel Wyatt won the 1,000-meter run to highlight the St. Olaf College women's track and field team's weekend at the St. Olaf Invitational & Multi on Friday and Saturday at Tostrud Center.
After posting the nation's top time in the 800-meter run last weekend on her way to being named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, Wyatt ran Saturday's top time in the 1,000-meter run (2:56.19). That time is the fastest in the MIAC this season and moved the junior up to second on St. Olaf's all-time list in the event.
First year
Willemijn Leiner and sophomore
Siri Erickson joined Wyatt in the top four in the 1,000-meter run, with Leiner trailing only Wyatt in second (3:05.60) and Erickson in fourth (3:05.91). Junior
Kayla Sieck added a runner-up finish in the 600-meter run for the Oles in 1:39.74, which ranks second in the conference this season.
First year
Abi Lindquist also turned in a top-three finish on the track by placing third in the one-mile run (5:21.06), while first year
Izzi Jaeckle raced to a fifth-place showing in the 400-meter dash (1:02.33). First year
Erika Nesseth cleared 2.90 meters (9' 6 ¼") in the pole vault to place fourth, while senior
Emma Sahly was fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (10.56).
The Oles will head to the University of Minnesota for the Gopher Classic on Saturday, Feb. 8.
