Cross country teams maintain streaks in USTFCCCA national polls

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The St. Olaf College men's and women's cross country teams checked in at No. 21 and No. 29, respectively, in this week's NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Cross Country National Coaches' Polls, as announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The St. Olaf men's program moved up one spot to No. 21 after finishing ninth out of 34 teams in a field that included 12 nationally-ranked squads at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday. This week marks the 65th consecutive national poll that the Oles were ranked in, a stretch that goes back to early in the 2018 season.

The St. Olaf women dropped three spots to No. 29 this week but maintained their lengthy streak in the USTFCCCA national poll after finishing 14th of 33 teams while competing against 15 other nationally-ranked teams – including the top-five teams in the country last week – on Saturday in Connecticut. The Oles have been ranked in each of the last 47 USTFCCCA national polls going back to the start of the 2021 season.

St. Olaf's teams will compete at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Highland Golf Course in St. Paul.
