COLFAX, Wis. – The No. 29-ranked St. Olaf College women's cross country team recorded a fourth-place finish out of 30 teams at the NCAA Division III North Region Championships on Saturday afternoon at Whitetail Golf Course.

Lauren Walda and sophomore
Abi Lindquist posted all-region performances (top 35) to lead the way for St. Olaf, which finished with a team score of 184 points. The Oles trailed No. 6 UW-La Crosse (45), No. 11 Carleton College (71), and No. 23 UW-Eau Claire (123), while finishing well ahead of fifth-place Gustavus Adolphus College (255).
Walda matched the best regional finish of her career and claimed all-region honors for the fourth consecutive year with a fourth-place performance (21:52.0). The senior's time was just 12 seconds behind individual champion Hannah Preisser of Carleton.
In her first regional meet, Lindquist was 30th in 22:58.5 as St. Olaf's No. 2 finisher. Fellow sophomore
Louisa Lamarre took 40th (23:25.7), followed by senior
Grace Moeller in 50th (23:37.5) and senior
Molly Kate McCloskey in 60th (23:44.9).
St. Olaf will find out on Sunday if it has earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships.
