NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The fourth-ranked St. Olaf College men's soccer team learned it will host the sectional rounds of the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship for the first time ever this coming weekend, as announced by the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Committee on Sunday night.
After advancing to the "Sweet 16" for the fifth time overall and the fourth time in five seasons, St. Olaf (18-2-3) was selected as one of four hosts for the sectional rounds, along with Washington University in St. Louis, Tufts University, and the University of Lynchburg. The Oles have been sent on the road in each of their prior four appearances in the sectional rounds.
St. Olaf will host No. 15-ranked Williams College (10-4-4) in the first game of the day at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Rolf Mellby Field. That game will be followed by a 1:30 p.m. kickoff between No. 8-ranked Wheaton College (Mass.) (16-1-4) and Macalester College (17-4-0). The two teams that advance from Saturday will meet for a spot in the national semifinals on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m.
