NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Senior
Ashlyn Jore and sophomore
Izzi Jaeckle both established new program records for the St. Olaf College women's track and field team at the Ole Opener on Saturday at Tostrud Fieldhouse.
Jore broke the four-decades-old school record in the long jump and was one one-hundredth off the all-time mark in the 60-meter dash, while Jaeckle reset the record in the 200-meter dash. The two record-breaking performances were among eight first-place finishes for St. Olaf at the unscored meet.
Jore bettered the previous school record of Jo Arveson from 1983 with a mark of 5.63 meters (18' 5 ¾") on her second attempt, which proved to be the winning jump at the meet. That mark currently ranks eighth in NCAA Division III this season. First year
