EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The St. Olaf College women's track and field team recorded four top-10 all-time program performances at the Dick & Mary Johnson Invite on Saturday at Simpson Field.
First years
Svea Frantzich,
Abby Frei, and
Evangeline Sappington, as well as sophomore
Logan Paulsen, accounted for the four performances that landed on St. Olaf's all-time performers' list at the unscored meet. With a relatively low number of entries at the meet, the Oles had seven top-10 finishes on the day.
Frantzich recorded St. Olaf's highest finish of the day with a third-place showing in the triple jump with a leap of 11.04 meters (36' 2 ¾"), which ranks fifth in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) this season and seventh on the Oles' all-time list.
Frei placed fourth in the pole vault after clearing 3.52 meters (11' 6 ½"), which put the first year fourth St. Olaf's all-time performers' list and fourth in the MIAC this season. Sappington placed 12th in the 100-meter dash, but her time of 12.72 seconds in the prelims was good to put the first year eighth in program history in the event.
Sophomore
Izzi Jaeckle and senior
Abbie Manhard added sixth-place finishes in the 200-meter dash (25.46) and 800-meter run (2:19.12), respectively.
Sophomore
Logan Paulsen had a busy day competing in four throwing events and finish in the top 10 in three of the four. Paulsen was seventh in discus throw (38.74m, 127' 1"), eighth in the javelin throw (32.43m, 106' 5"), and ninth in the shot put (11.80m, 38' 8 ¾"), with the latter mark sliding Paulsen into 10th place in program history.
St. Olaf will return to action at the Joe Sweeney Invitational at the University of St. Thomas on Wednesday, April 29.
