NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's track and field team placed third at the MIAC Outdoor Championships over the weekend at Carleton College.
Friday, Day 1
In finals competition,
Jessica Bentley placed third in the Discuss Throw at 39.92 meters.
Mary Naas finished seventh in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 38:36.99.
In preliminary competition, the Oles had multiple athletes advance to compete in final events.
Abby Stets advanced to the finals in both the 200 Meter Dash (25.47) and the 400 Meter Dash (58.09).
Johanna Glaaser (59.18) and
Katie Elstad (1:00.44) advanced in the 400 Meter Dash as well.
In the 800 Meter Run,
Jordan Lutz (2:19.35) and
Jena Hauch (2:19.75) both advanced for the Oles.
Lutz advanced to the finals in the 1,500 Meter Run as well with a time of 4:54.76.
In the 100 Meter Hurdles,
Mackenzie Schoustra finished with a time of 15.52 to advance to the finals.
Saturday, Day 2
The Oles had three second place finishes in events on the second and final day of competition.
Jena Moody took second in the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase with a time of 11:04.28.
Stets placed second in the 400 Meter Dash (56.66) and fourth in the 200 Meter Dash (25.26).
Lutz finished second in the 1,500 Meter Run (4:37.49) and added a third place finish in the 800 Meter Run (2:16.02).
The Ole relay team of
Lillie Meakim, Stets, Elstad, and Glaaser took fourth in the 4x100 Meter Relay (49.41).
Schoustra placed eighth in the 100 Meter Hurdles (15.65).
Naas led the Oles with an 11th place finish in the 5,000 Meter Run (18.34.73).
In field events, Bentley took third in the Javelin Throw (39.13m) and fifth in the Shot Put (11.78m).
Paige Woldt led the Oles with an eighth place finish in the Triple Jump (10.44m).
Emily Bohlig took 12th in the High Jump at 1.51 meters.
Corinna Brown Ton finished in 15th in the Pole Vault at 2.86 meters.
Next up for the Oles is the Last Chance Meet on Thursday in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
