NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's track and field team won eight events on its way to a second-place finish at the Meet of the Saints on Friday and Saturday at Manitou Track.
Prior to the meet, St. Olaf celebrated its senior class of
Michael Finn,
Jonah Herzog,
Kris Johnson,
Lukas Lindgren,
Sam Primozich, and
Sam Stresemann.
Sophomore
Lucas Kramarczuk posted the second-best mark in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) this season in the triple jump, winning the event with a jump of 13.74 meters (45' 1"). The jump was one centimeter outside of St. Olaf's all-time top-10 list in the event.
In the decathlon, junior
Stephen Peper won five events on his way to the event win with a score of 5,870 points, which ranks fourth in the conference this spring. Peper won the long jump (6.71m), high jump (1.94m), 400 meters (52.33), discus throw (33.17m), and pole vault (3.53m), with his mark of 6.71 meters in the long jump ranking second in the MIAC this season.
Kramarczuk and first year
Jacob Colich went head-to-head in the 400-meter hurdles, with Colich winning the event in 57.60 seconds and Kramarczuk finishing in 58.54 seconds. Those times ranked fifth and eighth, respectively, in the conference.
On the track, St. Olaf also got victories from
Duncan Forbes in the 400 meters (50.80),
Noah Massanari in the 1,500 meters (4:05.80),
Logan Bocovich in the 5,000 meters (15:04.60), and
Gabe Estrada in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:25.27). Forbes' time in the 400 sits fifth in the MIAC.
The 4x100-meter relay of
Matthew Nissen,
Henry Fisher, Colich, and Forbes also posted a first-place finish with a time of 45.07 seconds.
St. Olaf heads to St. Paul for the Macalester Invitational on Saturday, May 1.
