ST. PAUL, Minn. – Sophomore
Lucas Kramarczuk won the 110-meter hurdles with the eighth-best time in program history to highlight the St. Olaf College men's track and field team's performances at the Tommie Twilight and Rolex Classic on Wednesday.
Kramarczuk moved up from 10th to a tie for eighth on St. Olaf's all-time list in the event by winning the event with a time of 15.00 seconds. The time is the third-best in the MIAC this season and ranks 30th in NCAA Division III.
The Oles also had a trio of runner-up finishes from the small contingent competing at the Tommie Twilight, including senior
Sam Stresemann's second-place showing in the 800 meters. Stresemann's time of 1:55.98 was a personal-best and ranks fifth in the conference this spring.
Sophomore
Sean Souksavath logged a personal-best mark in the triple jump, leaping 13.00 meters (42' 8") to finish second in the event. Junior
Reuben Kosche and sophomore
Arne Ellefson-Carnes finished second and third in the 5,000 meters with times of 14:58.92 and 15:13.28, respectively.
St. Olaf also had many student-athletes in action at the Rolex Classic at Carleton. First year
Matthew Nissen was the runner-up in both the 100-meter dash (12.10) and 200-meter dash (25.60), while classmate
Jacob Colich took second in the 400-meter dash (52.18).
The Oles had numerous runners compete in the 800- and 1,500-meter runs, with senior
Sam Primozich taking third in the 800 (1:58.07) and first year
Ian Curtis placing second in the 1,500 (4:06.01).
St. Olaf's decathletes open the MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday, May 6 at 12 p.m. at Carleton's Laird Stadium.
