NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's track and field team had five different student-athletes win events at the Ole Open on Saturday at Manitou Track.
Duncan Forbes,
Ian Curtis,
Kevin Montresor,
Jacob Colich, and
Lukas Lindgren won events for St. Olaf, which was competing in its final meet before next week's Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Forbes recorded a season-best time of 50.13 seconds to win the 400-meter dash, clocking in with the ninth-best time in the MIAC this season.
In what is believed to be the first 3,000-meter run contested at Manitou Track, first year
Ian Curtis won the event with a time of 8:42.42 to lead the five Oles who competed in the event.
Sophomore
Kevin Montresor shaved over 11 seconds off his PR in the 5,000-meter run, winning the event in 16:06.84, while senior
Lukas Lindgren improved his season-best time by over 11 seconds to win the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:03.25.
St. Olaf's other event win came from first year
Jacob Colich in the 110-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 16.45 seconds.
The 2021 MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships begin on Friday, May 14 at Hamline University's Klas Field.
