Kramarczuk breaks 110-meter hurdles school record, Oles compete at Carleton and CSP

ST. PAUL/NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Junior Lucas Kramarczuk broke the school record in the 110-meter hurdles and sophomore Will Kelly set the meet record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Host Invitational, as the St. Olaf College men's track and field team had student-athletes compete at a pair of meets on Saturday.

Kramarczuk established a new school record in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.64 seconds in the finals and placed sixth in the event. The junior's time ranks second in the conference and 16th in NCAA Division III this season. St. Olaf had seven top-five finishes at the Holst Invitational in St. Paul, while the team's throwers accounted for three more at the Carleton Relays in Northfield.

Kelly won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a meet-record time of 9:33.57 for one of two event wins for the Oles at Concordia, St. Paul. Junior Arne Ellefson-Carnes added a first-place finish in the 10,000-meter run in 34:05.53.

First year Dylan Arnold – the reigning Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week – placed third overall and first among NCAA Division III competitors in the pole vault by clearing 4.50 meters (14' 9"). Kramarczuk also had a third-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 13.52 meters (44' 4 ¼"), which ranks fourth in the MIAC this spring.

St. Olaf got top-five finishes in the 1,500-meter run from sophomore Ian Curtis and junior Noah Massanari, as Curtis was fourth (4:00.28) followed closely by Massanari in fifth (4:01.01). Senior Gabe Alada took fifth in the long jump with a jump of 6.76 meters (22' 2 ¼") on his final attempt, which ranks third in the MIAC and is just outside the program's top-10 list in the event.

At Carleton, senior Aengus White and first year Trevor Christensen posted a 1-2 finish in the discus throw, with White winning the event (44.83m, 147' 1") and Christensen just behind in second (42.58m, 139' 8"). First year Cade Feist finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 14.22 meters (46' 8").

Junior Logan Bocovich and senior Stephen Peper will represent the Oles at the next week's Drake Relays, held Thursday, April 28 through Saturday, April 30 in Des Moines, Iowa. The rest of the team is set to compete at the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational on Saturday, April 30 at Macalester.
