MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Sophomore
Jack Deaver won the 3,000-meter run as the St. Olaf College men's and women's track and field teams were in action at the Gopher Classic on Saturday at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse.
Deaver posted the top time on the day of the 18 finishers in the 3,000-meter run, winning the event in a personal-best time of 8:50.19 for the lone first-place finish of the day for St. Olaf. The Oles combined for 13 top-five finishes at the unscored meet.

Ian Curtis added a runner-up finish for the St. Olaf men in the one-mile run, clocking in at 4:20.34 to finish behind only Daniel VanAcker of the University of Minnesota. Curtis' time ranks fifth in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) this season.

Karla Kroschel recorded the top finish of the day for the St. Olaf women with a second-place performance in the 400-meter dash. The senior broke onto St. Olaf's all-time list in the event in 10th place with her time of 1:00.10, which also ranks fourth in the MIAC this season.

Sophie Call recorded a 3-4 finish in the 800-meter run, finishing just eight one-hundredths of a second apart with times of 2:23.91 and 2:23.99. First year
Mara Larson cleared 1.51 meters (4' 11 ½") to place fourth in the high jump, while sophomore
Lauren Walda posted a fourth-place result in the one-mile run (5:14.28).

Ethan Cozine were both in the top five in the 600-meter run, with Nemecek finishing third (1:24.38) and Cozine fifth (1:25.34). St. Olaf's 4x400-meter relay of first year

Cullen Moore ran to a fourth-place finish in 3:29.06, which is the third-fastest time in the conference this season.

Ainslee Parker logged fifth-place performances in the jumps, with Parker taking fifth in the triple jump (10.47m, 34' 4 ¼") and Moo coming in fifth in the long jump (6.25m, 20' 6 ¼"). First year
Molly DiNardo placed fifth in the 600-meter run (1:44.49) as well.
St. Olaf's teams are next in action at the UW-Stout Quad on Friday, Feb. 9 in Menomonie, Wis.
