NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The No. 15-ranked St. Olaf College men's cross country team had four runners in the top eight on its way to winning the 53rd St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday morning at the St. Olaf Cross Country Course.

Kevin Turlington, senior
Andrew Skemp, junior
Parker Max, and senior
Sean Hartney were all among the top-eight finishers to lead St. Olaf to the team title by a 14-point margin ahead of UW-Eau Claire. The Oles compiled 38 points in the 22-team standings to finish ahead of UW-Eau Claire (52) and No. 24-ranked UW-Stout (71) in the top three.
Turlington was the top finisher for St. Olaf with a runner-up result in 25:14.70, trailing only individual champion Mohammed Bati of Augsburg University, who was over 30 seconds ahead of the rest of the field in 24:42.30, which broke the meet record of 24:47.3 set by
Will Kelly '24 in 2023. Skemp joined Turlington in the top five in fourth in 25:44.00.
Max and Hartney made it four Oles in the top 10 by placing sixth and eighth, respectively, in 25:53.80 and 25:58.00. Junior
Jack Deaver rounded out St. Olaf's five scorers in 19th in 26:20.00, with junior
Ignatius Fitzgerald not far behind in 21st (26:26.40). St. Olaf had nine of the top-34 finishers over the eight-kilometer course.
Next up for the Oles is the Running of the Cows at Carleton College on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m.
