NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's hockey team was ranked No. 14 in this week's DIIIHockeyNews Top 15 Poll and continued to receive votes in the USCHO Division III Men's Poll.
Off to its best start to a season since 1992-93, St. Olaf (4-1-1, 2-0-0 MIAC) broke into the top 15 of the DIIIHockeyNews poll for the first time after sweeping defending conference champion Gustavus Adolphus College to open Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play over the weekend. The Oles were the lone MIAC team to receive votes or be ranked in that poll, which is voted on by 20 Division III head coaches, assistant coaches, and media members.
In this week's USCHO balloting, St. Olaf garnered votes for the third consecutive poll and sat just outside the top 15. The Oles' 20 points in the poll were nine fewer than No. 15-ranked Chatham University.
St. Olaf will continue MIAC play against Saint John's University this weekend, beginning with a 7 p.m. puck drop at home on Friday, Nov. 21.
