MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's and women's swimming and diving teams accounted for 25 top-20 results at the University of Minnesota First Chance Meet on Friday and Saturday at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
In the teams' final meet before the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships, the St. Olaf men had 18 top-20 performances and the women's team added seven at the two-day meet. The meet served as the final competition for the members of the teams who will not swim at the conference meet. Many of the Oles who will continue to compete swam in their non-traditional events.

Dobbin Chong recorded three top-20 swims for the men's team, placing 16th in the 100-yard freestyle (49.40) and 18th in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.59) and 200-yard freestyle (1:49.17). First year

Jack Homme all had two top-20 performances apiece.
Yung was the lone Ole from either team to finish in the top 10 in two different events after placing eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:14.22) and ninth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:01.63). Thronson had the Oles highest placement of the meet with a fourth-place swim in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:33.98), while Cameron was fifth in the 200-yard butterfly (2:03.14).
Sophomore
Katie Homme was St. Olaf's lone women's swimmer to post two top-20 finishes, taking 12th in the 50-yard freestyle (24.87) and 18th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.32). Homme's 12-place showing in the 50 free was the team's highest placement of the meet.
The four-day 2025 MIAC Swimming & Diving Championships will begin on the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 19 at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center. Tickets for the meet must be
