MARQUETTE, Mich. – The St. Olaf College men's and women's alpine skiing teams punched their tickets to the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championships with top-three finishes at this weekend's MCSA Regional Championships held at Marquette Mountain on Saturday and Sunday.
The St. Olaf women placed second overall after taking second in both the slalom and giant slalom, while the men were third overall after placing second in the slalom and fourth in the giant slalom. The finishes punched both teams' tickets to the USCSA National Championships at Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Ore., which will be held March 9-15.

Austin Mjanger led the Oles to a runner-up finish in the men's slalom by placing third (1:15.21) and fourth (1:14.59), respectively, with both posting two top-six runs. Junior
Kerem Haymana was St. Olaf's third counting score in 16th (1:20.44).
In the women's slalom, senior
Kate Young, junior
Jessica Stanton, and senior
Lexi Jorgensen all finished in the top 16 to give St. Olaf a second-place finish. Young and Stanton took ninth (1:24.10) and 10th (1:24.24), respectively, while Jorgensen checked in in 16th (1:28.16).
On Sunday, Young logged a podium finish in third (1:05.95) to lead the way in the women's giant slalom, as the Oles again took second. First year
Maia Andrews recorded a 13th-place result (1:09.32), while Jorgensen added another top-20 performance in 17th (1:09.91).
St. Olaf registered a fourth-place team finish in the men's giant slalom behind top-20 showings from Mjanger and Haymana. Mjanger was the Oles' top finisher in 11th (1:05.83), followed by Haymana in 16th (1:06.65) and senior
Alexander James in 43rd (1:10.91).
Prior to the USCSA National Championships, St. Olaf will race in FIS competition at Mt. La Crosse on Saturday and Sunday, March 1-2.
