BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Junior Isaac Schmidt of the St. Olaf College men's golf team was honored as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Golf Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Schmidt became the first Ole to earn the accolade in nearly two years after finishing as the individual medalist to lead St. Olaf to the team title at the Augsburg Spring Invite on Sunday and Monday. Prior to Tuesday, St. Olaf's last MIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week was current senior Josh Sansom on April 25, 2023.

Schmidt won the Augsburg Spring Invite by four strokes with a total of 146 (+2) for St. Olaf. The tournament win was the first of the career for the junior, whose even-par 72 on Sunday was the second-lowest round of the event.

The Oles will compete at the Bobby Krig Invite on Friday and Saturday, April 18-19. Round one is set for an 8:30 a.m. start at Le Sueur Country Club.
