Isaac Schmidt of the St. Olaf College men's golf team were both named 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for NCAA Division III, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Sansom and Schmidt both earned the accolade for the second season in a row and were among a list of 203 student-athletes from 78 schools to receive the honor. The pair were St. Olaf's top-two golfers in terms of scoring average this past season among those who played in at least eight rounds, as Schmidt led the team with a mark of 75.1 and Sanson followed at 77.5.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
